Brad’s Story
“If you ever arrived late to a meal or walked into the dining hall as one was going on, you can’t miss the energy in the building. You feel it. It’s like all the activity and excitement of camp has been bottled up in the building and can barely be contained. As I’ve continued to visit camp throughout the years, heading to the dining hall and seeing this is still one of my favourite experiences.
For me, meals at camp were a time to reconnect with friends or that favourite staff member after a morning or afternoon apart and to share and relive the moments. You looked forward to meals precisely for the chance to share your experiences with someone. It was more than just a meal to recharge – it was a time to connect and feel connected. Year after year I heard stories from staff and campers alike who had a significant memory or moment that happened at a meal.”
