Breaker’s Story

“I was new to the Pioneer Camp summer community, even though I had worked 5 months as an Instructor with the Outdoor Ed program. I still remember walking into the BC dining hall during Sr. Pre-Camp right in the middle of a session and seeing all the guys turn and look towards me. It was at that moment I was welcomed into the BC community. That summer (2006) I was in charge of the High Ropes Course. I still remember on a weekly basis the program team asking me to rig something in the dining hall for a skit so that they could rappel down, or jump out, or something crazy. I was even part of some of the skits at a koopa (Mario Turtle). Over the years I have had the amazing opportunity to create and build relationships with guys from BC and it always seems to start inside that dining hall.”
